44 billion for renewable energy in Africa by Afrik21

The European Union will invest 44 billion euros into the development of renewable energy in Africa, posts Afrik21.

Right now, 1.6 billion sub-Saharan African households do not have electricity. The investment should help reduce this number, as well as help reduce the impacts of climate change on vulnerable regions.
