Solar Water Pumping in the Mtwara Region – Ensol Tanzania Ltd. delivered and installed a solar water pumping system in 2013 in the Mtwara region, where access to clean water was very limited. All 11 villages in Mtwara now have a solar water pumping system capable of supplying a maximum of 50,000 litres of tap water per day. The minimum water pumping head is a sizeable 100 m and in some villages, water has to be transported from the source to the village over a distance of 1.9 km.
